Whistleblower protection is an important part of corporate culture, which is now also legally anchored in Austria. Whistleblowers who report misconduct or violations of the law in their company enjoy protection and support under the Whistleblower Protection Act.
Businesses and corporations must now take measures to ensure whistleblowers are protected from retaliation and that their identities are kept confidential. Concrete implementation of these measures can help to strengthen employees’ trust in the company and promote ethical handling of misconduct.
Businesses are now encouraged to look into whistleblower solutions as the implementation of appropriate systems will become mandatory later this year. Our experts also address the following key areas:
- How do I ensure the required anonymity?
- Why is a two-way communication option with whistleblowers essential?
- How do I communicate the possibility of reporting to employees, suppliers and partners?
- Is a central reporting point in the group sufficient?
- What empirical values are there in practice?
Questions about the “SecuReveal” electronic whistleblower system will then be answered. This system was developed by Wolf Theiss in cooperation with Austrian technology companies and has been used by domestic and foreign companies for years.
Speakers:
- Roland Marko, Partner, Wolf Theiss
- Helmut Waitzer, CEO, RBS Consulting
