With the Green Deal, the European Commission has pointed the way towards climate protection and a resource-efficient and more sustainable economy.

By 2050, the EU is to become climate-neutral, which is to be achieved above all by directing payment flows in a sustainable direction.

The real estate industry, as one of the largest emitters of greenhouse gases, plays a key factor in the implementation of these goals. ESG and sustainability are therefore also becoming increasingly important when financing real estate projects.

Topics:

  • Which European and national regulations are currently shaping the real estate industry and what has happened in recent months? What other requirements can be expected?
  • How do banks deal with the issue of sustainable finance and which ESG factors do they consider when lending?
  • What steps need to be taken to meet the ESG requirements for real estate financing?
  • How do companies deal with “Green Loans” or the fulfillment of the EU taxonomy for existing and new projects?
  • What are the requirements for market participants, especially in real estate transactions?

We will answer these questions as part of the continuation of the event series “ESG in the real estate industry” and deepen them with you.

  • Franz Pöltl, CEO, EHL
  • Karin Schmidt-Mitscher, Head of Residential Construction, Erste Bank
