Wolf Theiss advises Ardian on the acquisition of a majority stake in Akuo Energy

Vienna, 2 April 2025 – Wolf Theiss advised Ardian, a leading French private equity firm, on its potential acquisition of a majority stake in Akuo Energy, a global producer and developer in the renewable energy sector.

Ardian is a global private investment firm managing USD 177 billion in assets. With expertise in Private Equity, Real Assets and Credit, Ardian offers tailored investment solutions and is committed to strong performance, ethical standards and sustainable value.

Founded in 2007, Akuo Energy is a French independent producer of renewable energy, specialising in wind, solar and storage. With a global portfolio exceeding 12 GW across 20+ countries, the company is set to reach a capacity of 1.9 GW by the end of 2024.

Wolf Theiss provided transaction advisory legal services, including due diligence and regulatory risk assessment on key legal and regulatory aspects in relation to the projects of the target companies in Croatia, Bulgaria and Poland. Wolf Theiss worked in collaboration with lead counsel Hogan Lovells.
