Wolf Theiss advises Visma on acquisition of Finmatics

Vienna, 9 April 2025 – Wolf Theiss advised Visma, a leading provider of mission-critical cloud software, on its acquisition of Finmatics, a prominent pre-accounting software company operating in the DACH region. The transaction strengthens Visma’s presence in DACH markets and expands its offering for accounting professionals.

Visma is a leading provider of mission-critical cloud software, with a revenue of €2.8 billion in 2024, 16,400 employees and 2 million customers across Europe and Latin America. By simplifying and automating the work of businesses and organisations of all sizes, Visma contributes to a more efficient and prosperous society.

Founded in 2016, Finmatics operates one of the leading pre-accounting cloud platforms in the DACH region, automating accounting processes using AI-powered tools. The company employs over 120 people in Austria, Germany and Hungary, serving more than 1,200 accounting firms and SMEs.

Acting as lead counsel, Wolf Theiss provided comprehensive legal and regulatory support, including the negotiation and drafting of transaction documents as well as assistance with foreign direct investment (FDI) and merger control (MC) procedures.
