Wolf Theiss opens a new office in Brussels

Positioning Wolf Theiss at the heart of the European Union

Wolf Theiss is pleased to announce the opening of its newest office in Brussels, strategically positioned at the heart of the European Union. This expansion enhances Wolf Theiss’ ability to deliver focused legal expertise and strengthen support for clients across Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (CEE/SEE). By establishing a presence in Brussels, Wolf Theiss is better positioned to connect its clients in the CEE/SEE region with the core of EU operations, while reinforcing its commitment to growth in these markets.

With over 390 lawyers across 13 countries, Wolf Theiss has long been recognised as a leader in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe. The Brussels office acts as a gateway to key EU institutions and helps drive growth for clients and referral law firms in the CEE/SEE region.

The new location positions Wolf Theiss at the centre of EU decision-making and regulatory developments, allowing the firm to offer enhanced legal services to clients seeking advice on competition law, mergers, FDI, state aid and compliance. The Brussels office also reinforces the firm’s strategy of maintaining strong referral relationships with other leading law firms while continuing to focus on its core CEE/SEE markets.

Our core asset is our geography. We are in the heart of Europe. Opening a new office in its informal capital is a logical step.

-Andrea Gritsch, Managing Partner

Why Brussels and why now?

The opening of the Brussels office comes in response to increasing demand from clients for closer proximity to EU institutions and deeper insights into the evolving regulatory landscape. This expansion allows Wolf Theiss to provide tailored, on-the-ground legal advice on EU competition matters and compliance issues, helping clients navigate the complexities of the European market.

This office solidifies our presence in Europe and our work with EU institutions and should help partner firms with CEE/SEE regulatory matters.

-Guenter Bauer, Partner, Competition and Antitrust Law

Brussels is the gateway to the EU, and this office brings us even closer to the institutions that shape the regulatory landscape. We are excited to offer our clients unparalleled service in one of the most important legal hubs in Europe.

-Ana Jurcovan, Partner

A hub for regional growth

The Brussels office will act as a hub for businesses and partner law firms from CEE/SEE, supporting their compliance efforts and driving growth within the competitive European market. The team includes our partners Guenter Bauer, Anca Jurcovan, Robert Wagner, and Stefan Wartinger, who will bring their expertise to key matters handled in Brussels. This office serves as a gateway for international companies seeking to invest in the CEE/SEE region and reinforces Wolf Theiss’ commitment to offering seamless legal support across the European market.

Our new Brussels office is a critical move in line with our mission to provide seamless, full-scope legal support across the CEE/SEE region. We look forward to leveraging this new location for the benefit of our clients.

-Robert Wagner, Partner
