Wolf Theiss advises ALSO Group on the acquisition of Target Group

Vienna, 27 November 2023 – Wolf Theiss advised the ALSO Group on all legal aspects of the acquisition of the Austrian Target Group. The signing took place on 15 November 2023.

Value-add IT provider Target was founded 47 years ago and is the market leader for Apple products in Austria. As an authorised service provider, Target also provides its customers various additional offers. The focus is on SMBs, which emphasises Apple’s strength not only in the consumer sector, but also in the commercial sector. With the acquisition of Apple specialist Target, ALSO becomes one of the market leaders in Austria.

The ALSO Group is one of the leading technology providers for the ICT sector. It is currently active in 30 European countries, and through partners, in a total of 144 countries worldwide.

The Wolf Theiss team was led by Sarah Wared (Partner, Corporate/M&A) and further consisted of Günter Bauer (Partner, Competition), Lukas Plösch (Senior Associate, Corporate/M&A), Sophie Weber (Associate, Competition) and Martin Laschan (Associate, Corporate/M&A). The team advised the ALSO Group on the structuring of the transaction, legal DD and transaction agreements. The completion of the transaction is still subject to customary competition law approvals.

Within the ALSO Group, the transaction was led by Thomas Meyerhans (General Counsel, SVP Human Resources), supported by Ute Kramer (Head of Legal Germany & Austria) and implemented in cooperation with the internal M&A team.
