FinTech start-up BehaviorQuant receives late seed investment with legal advice from Wolf Theiss
Vienna, 8 May 2023 – Wolf Theiss advised FinTech start-up BehaviorQuant Behavioral Finance Technologies (‘BehaviorQuant’) in a late seed funding round with investors from California and France. The capital injection represents a major step for the start-up’s future growth.
Peter Oberlechner (Partner) and Marion Schimböck (Senior Associate) acted as legal advisors to BehaviorQuant and its founders.
Michael Kienzl (Counsel) and Nikolaus Wollner (Associate) acted as legal counsel for the investors.
BehaviorQuant has developed an innovative digital web platform geared towards optimising decision-making for investment professionals by means of the systematic quantitative analysis of behavioural characteristics and risks. This makes it possible, for the first time, to objectively profile the people and teams behind financial transactions, which sets BehaviorQuant apart from other FinTechs.
The platform’s users include investors, fund and portfolio managers, asset managers, private banking houses, banking clients in the investment sector, insurance companies, regulators and other financial decision-makers.
“We are very impressed by BehaviorQuant’s innovative and novel behavioural finance technology”
Michael Kienzl, Wolf Theiss Partner, Corporate/M&A
“And we are pleased to have accompanied the start-up in this important step in its further development“
Peter Oberlechner, Wolf Theiss Partner, Real Estate
The signing of the late seed financing round took place on 25 April 2023. The “long distance” notarial act was made possible thanks to the innovative remote online notarisation platform “Notarity”.
