Wolf Theiss advises Miba on the expansion of its eMobility Business
Through its subsidiary, Miba eMobility GmbH, Miba AG acquired a stake in the Upper-Austrian-based company VOLTLABOR GmbH and entered into a joint venture in the field of battery systems for mobile applications.
Miba AG is a global, family-run industrial and technology group and partner of the automotive industry. VOLTLABOR GmbH, based in Bad Leonfelden, is specialized in research, development and production of innovative battery systems.
With this acquisition and joint venture, Miba is expanding into the promising growth market of eMobility and broadening its portfolio by including the battery system – the core element of electric drives. By teaming up with Miba, VOLTLABOR gains a strategic industrialization partner with a global sales and customer network.
Wolf Theiss provided Miba with comprehensive legal advice on this forward-looking step. The team was led by Andrea Gritsch together with Zeno Grabmayr (both Corporate/M&A). Other team members included, amongst others, Sarah Wared (Corporate/M&A), Günter Bauer (Competition & Antitrust), Roland Marko (IP/IT), Karl Binder (Real Estate) and Florian Pechhacker (Commercial Contracts). The transaction is one of the first transactions in the field of eMobility in Austria.
