Wolf Theiss advises Wiener Städtische Versicherung

Vienna, 18 May 2017 – Erste Group and Wiener Städtische Insurance have once again placed their trust in Wolf Theiss for advice in the issuance of a €250m tier 2 subordinated bond from Wiener Städtische.

Wolf Theiss advised Wiener Städtische Versicherung AG (Vienna Insurance Group) as issuer and Erste Group Bank AG as arranger and sole lead manager as well as bookrunner in the establishment of an issuance programme and the issuance of the EUR 250,000,000 3.5% second-tier bond, which will run from 2017 to 2027.

The trade was announced on 21 April and was directed primarily at Austrian and German retail investors. When published, the range of the coupon was set at 3.500% to 3.625%. Following the bookbuilding on 26 April, it was set at the lower end of the range. The book, kept by Erste Group, only needed two hours to reach EUR 250m.

In this successful deal, Wolf Theiss was able to prove once again its strength in creating individualised transaction teams tailored to the specific needs of clients. Partner Alexander Haas and Associate Nikolaus Dinhof handled the documentation and legal issues surrounding the capital market, while Partner Claus Schneider and Consultant Christine Siegl advised in structuring the product.
