Wolf Theiss real estate law expert Birgit Kraml becomes new ULI Chairwoman
Vienna, 3 July 2023 – Birgit Kraml, partner and real estate law expert at Wolf Theiss, was appointed as the new Chairwoman of the Urban Land Institute (‘ULI’) Austria on 1 July 2023. She replaced Jasmin Soravia, managing partner at Kollitsch & Soravia Immobilien, following her four-year term.
The Urban Land Institute is the oldest and largest network of interdisciplinary real estate and land use experts in the world. It is a member-led research and educational organisation with over 45,000 members in more than 80 countries and serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas on sustainable development and the use of cities, as well as on other real estate issues.
“It is great to be part of such a large network and to be able to exchange views on exciting future issues such as sustainability, urban development and affordable housing with like-minded people and thus also to be able to help shape the future. A big thank you to Jasmin! I am happy to follow in her footsteps,” comments Wolf Theiss partner Birgit Kraml on taking on the ULI chair.
The position was previously held by Jasmin Soravia, who served as ULI Chairwoman for four years. She wishes her successor Birgit Kraml:

In her role as an attorney at Wolf Theiss, Birgit Kraml regularly advises companies on major real estate projects in Austria and CEE. She is known for her outstanding expertise in the areas of project development, real estate purchase and sale, contentious real estate law, as well as tenancy, facility and environmental law. In addition, she is responsible for the coordination of ESG real estate activities at Wolf Theiss and specialised in planning and environmental law during her studies at the University of Vienna. Furthermore, she regularly lectures on environmental and spatial planning law at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology. Birgit Kraml is also Conseiller du commerce extérieur de la France.
As the new ULI Chair, she will be responsible for all local ULI activities in Vienna and will represent ULI Austria in the Executive Committee of ULI Germany/ Austria/ Switzerland.
