Wolf Theiss strengthens its banking & finance and dispute resolution teams in Warsaw
Stefan Feliniak has been active in the banking and finance sector for over 10 years working with Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) and providing advice on debt financings, debt securities, treasury operations, and restructurings for project, asset, and acquisition finance matters.
Stefan has thorough practical knowledge and hands-on experience with the financing of exports and the expansion of Polish entrepreneurs into foreign markets. He also has participated in many pioneering transactions on the Polish market, including the financing the Polish government’s first PPP project, the financing of a Polish public company secured with foreign assets and portfolio guarantees.
“The recent years have been a particularly fascinating period to be with BGK, the Polish State Development Bank. I had the unique opportunity to participate in many very significant financings, in both the capacities as a lawyer and as an active negotiator”, says Stefan Feliniak. “I look forward to putting my skills and experience to work at Wolf Theiss."
“Stefan’s leadership of our banking team and his practical knowledge of complex transactions will be an immediate and important benefit to clients of Wolf Theiss Warsaw", notes Ron Given, Co-Managing Partner of the office. "I am also convinced that our strong CEE/SEE presence will enable Stefan to even further expand the boundaries of his practice."
Paweł Bukiel has extensive hands-on dispute resolution experience which he acquired whilst working at leading international law firms in Warsaw and, most recently, PwC Legal. Paweł’s area of expertise includes corporate, construction sector and administrative disputes. He has also conducted a number of proceedings in the area of intellectual property and personal data as well as providing advice to local government entities and state legal representatives.
“Wolf Theiss is an innovative market leader that helps clients win even in the face of the most complex business challenges, and I am very happy to be joining it”, comments Paweł Bukiel.
Marcin Asłanowicz, the head of Wolf Theiss Warsaw’s disputes practice, adds “Clients have the right to have very high expectations of the handing of their litigation and arbitration matters, and it takes exceptional lawyers to address those expectations. Paweł Bukiel is a lawyer who always exceeds client expectations and is a perfect fit to our growing team.”
